What kind of card is the "KOKUSAI Card"?

A

The "KOKUSAI Card" is a prepaid card that allows cheap international and domestic telephone calls to be made from Japan and also from overseas. The card can be used from a home telephone, mobile phone, PHS phone, and BB Phone.
This is not the type of card that is inserted into the telephone.

Are calls to numbers starting 0091 charged?

A

No. Calls to numbers starting 0091 are "toll-free calls" to our access points.
0091-2077 can be used from mobile phones, PHS phones, and fixed-line home telephones.

Do calling rates change depending on the time of day?

A

No. Calls using a "KOKUSAI Card" are charged on a flat rate basis 24 hours a day for all destinations.

How can I check the balance of my card?

Does the "KOKUSAI Card" have an expiration date?

A

Yes.
The "KOKUSAI Card" is valid for one year from the purchase date to the end of the month one year later.
For example, if you purchase a "KOKUSAI Card" on August 1, 2013, its expiration date is August 31, 2014.

How can I find out when my "KOKUSAI Card" expires?

A

Please write down your purchase date on the back of your "KOKUSAI Card" for your reference.
If you lost the number, please contact our customer center.

How many phone numbers can be registered?

A

Up to five phone numbers can be registered.

Can I change my registered phone number(s)?

A

We are sorry, but you cannot change your registered phone number(s) by yourself.
If you wish to delete any of your registered phone numbers, please contact our customer center.
After having the number(s) deleted, please call 0091-2077 and register a new phone number(s) by following the voice guidance.

When calling from a mobile phone or PHS phone, do I have to apply for international calls in advance?

A

No application procedures are required.
You can use your card to make international calls immediately after the purchase.
(The service may not be used from some types of telephones.)

Is the voice guidance only available in Japanese?

A

The following languages are available, including Japanese:
1. English, 2. Japanese, 3. Chinese, 4. Tagalog, 5. Portuguese, 6. Thai, 7. Korean, 8. Indonesian, 9. Spanish

The voice guidance is initially given in English and Japanese, but you can select other languages. When you dial the access number at your first use, you will hear the language selection guidance. Then press the number for your preferred language. Once you set your preferred language, the same language guidance will be provided for all subsequent calls. The language can be changed from time to time by asking our customer center.

Where can I purchase "KOKUSAI Card"s?

A

You can purchase the KOKUSAI card at 7-Eleven and POPLAR convenience stores and at PC DEPOT, Nojima* and GEO* stores near you.

  • The KOKUSAI card may not be available at all Nojima and GEO stores.

We are not responsible for any loss of your card or leakage of your card number to third parties.
This card is not allowed to be exchanged, reissued, refunded, or exchanged for money.
This card is not available for calls to three-digit special numbers such as 110 and 119.
The table of calling times gives a rough guide to the maximum calling time when the card is used one time until it completely runs out.
The card will expire at the end of the month one year after the purchase.
This card complies with the prepaid phone service agreement and the terms of service.
